Las Vegas, Nevada is one of the places to be if you want to work in Executive Protection and is a very good proving ground for new agents coming into the close protection business. Vegas is a city of movers and shakers with a host of corporations, celebrities and entertainment companies, which makes it perfect for training aspiring Executive Protection agents. The geography, street systems, and droves of moving people and vehicles create a dynamic where agents have to be on their toes to protect their principals and team mates and this is where real agents are made.
It is very easy to get licensed as a security operator in Nevada through the State of Nevada Private Investigators Licensing Board; however, there is no training required that will teach you the necessary skills to be successful as close protection agents. We find that shocking for a town that manages so much money and that so many high-profile, wealthy and business people frequent. And because of that we decided that Las Vegas was a perfect place to host our Executive Protection class.
All New Hybrid Classes
In our previous classes we learned that classroom lectures simply eat away at valuable practice time for our students. So in this year we have implemented hybrid executive protection classes. Students will spend three days online studying with elite executive protection instructors. The curriculum will cover:
- The history of Executive Protection, Professionalism,
- Professionalism
- Legal Considerations and Contracts
- Security Advances
- Risk and Threat Assessments
- Surveillance and Counter-Surveillance and
- Protective Service Details (PSD)
Then on day one of our in-person class we will do a brief review to reinforce what was learned in our online executive protection modules. Followed by a classroom lecture on executive protection formations, attacks on principal drills and assassination reviews.
The next three days will be dedicated to hands on instruction where you get to practice writing security operations plans, advance reports and risk assessments, conduct route planning, hands on medical emergency training, close quarter combat, principal movements, protective service detail formations and attack on principal drills.

Stop the bleed is an "Essential" executive protection certification to have. it is frequently a standard requirement to work with high-profile clients.
Larry Penton is an independent instructor and will be teaching the "Stop the Bleed course on August 8, 2024, as part of your EP training. However, the course "is not included" in the price of the our executive protection course. Taking the class isn't mandator, but we highly recommend it.
